If you are having a chilled night at home with a few drinks with your familia and friends like me then you may not need to read this but if you are heading out and getting wild.. please.. take note my babes!
For going out to festivals or parties you really want to use a a good face primer to lock in your base so your makeup doesnt just dry up or drip off!
I use a great cheap NP Set face primer that i got from Target! It's Napoleon Perdis but the cheaper range and it's awesome for my sensitive skin and it smells yum too!
The next thing I like to use when i know i'm going out for a good hectic night out is a long lasting foundation. I personally use Mac Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 but theres an awesome Pro longwear SPF 10 foundation that really does what it says it will. It stays! If you don't want to splash out on one of these foundations because you aren't sure how they will go..Try a L'oreal or a Maybelline Longwear foundation. If you find your correct colour and something that really suite your skin then you are set. If you don't have time to test them all at the shop i would head to the Mac counter because even though it is a little bit more expensive.. I don't think you'll be dissapointed with the coverage!
If you aren't in to wearing a lot of foundation i would reccomend trying the Maybelline BB Cream with salicylic acid in it to add some colour to your face with an even coverage. Because of my sensitive skin, i can't wear other BB creams as i break out or get rashes and look awful so when i found this one i was so happy! try it!
Please don't go overboard with the bronzer or the blusher. It may be NYE but there is NO excuse to look all orangey-pinky-goldish-brownish. None! I don't want to see any insta pics of ya'll on NYE looking like your face is a fkn galaxy okay? Sweet!
Now after you have put your foundation on ( or BB) i like to wait atleast five minutes before i put any finishing powder on. I feel like this gives the foundation enough time to sink in and also gives you enough time to decide if you look good from all different lights. I usually race around the house taking selfies in all different shadows and lights just to make sure my foundation is even!
For your finishing powder.. I would suggest something light a mineral based like the Mac Mineralize Skinfinish/Natural powder. It's low coverage but adds just enough to lock it all in and add a wee glimmer! This is my favourite powder i have ever used. You can also find cheaper options. L'oreal have a good range of powders also!
When your face is looking perfectly covered and you feel amazing.. Give yourself a few sprays with the Mac Fix + Spray! It's filled with moisture and it really works! I actually take this in my handbag everywhere now. It never leaves my side because it locks in your makeup like hairspray does for your hair and it keeps you looking fresh all throughout the night! this is one of my favourite items i have purchased in 2013!
