What does this even mean? Does it mean that guys with curly hair are attractive?
What about the lead singer from Simply Red? Anybody take him into consideration when they made up that saying?! Huh?! Did they?!
That's actually awful Melissa.
Anyway. This weekend I had the most awesome time with my crew on a boat. A mother flippen boat.
It was my beautiful friend Doreen's birthday and I honestly had the best time with everyone. So many laughs and jokes and bottles of passion pop.
it was insane!
So, I was in a dilemma.
What do I wear? What shoes are appropriate? What makeup would be good for a summers arvo? Do I even bother shaving my legs?
All these questions.
So hard being a girl.
So much to do.
One thing I was positive about was my hair. Aka the lions mane.
I have the most epic hair curler. It's called the Babyliss Pro Porcelain Conical Wand.(32mm-19mm)
I got it back in NZ for approx $110 and it had been my hairs bestie ever since. For summer especially.
It has a range of different heat settings so you can choose how hot you want it and therefor how curly your hair will be in the end.
This season is all about big waves and bouncy curls so maybe invest in one or speak to your hair dresser about what curler would best suit your type of hair style and hair.
Always use a heat defense serum or spray before curling your hair and if you are going to be doing it often..try getting a heat protective shampoo and conditioner.
I achieved my look from separating my hair in four different layers and spraying them all with a TRESemmé heat defense spray. You can get this from your Coles, woolies or Priceline. Wait for it to soak in. While it is soaking in - turn your hair wand on. I like to heat and use it at around 240 because I want big curls that last.
Next- brush your hair and hold the wand up on an angle and twist your hair around the wand. Hold for about 10 seconds or longer depending on how strong and tight you want your curls.
Be super careful to not burn yourself! It may feel a little awkward but after the third use you will have your angles down!
After you have curled all sections of your hair, flick your head upside down and hairspray it while scrunching your hair with your hands.
Do a similar scrunch and spray dance while styling the top layer. Never forget the back of your head. No one wants a flat head.
Your curls will drop but you can always take a travel can of spray with you for top ups.
Don't overdo it with the spray because it can become too heavy and gluggy and make you look..damp? Or sticky? Slimey? All these words are NOT what we are aiming for so take it easy.
If you are looking at getting one..(which I think is an awesome idea) check out your hair salon or but online at
